Since I got the go-ahead from my consultant to start looking at treatment later in the year I feel that I have had an entire armful of blood taken – and then maybe a bit extra. I know that there are plenty of needles, injections, and bloods to be taken.
8th June
This was the date of my first lot of blood taken. These were done at the clinic and included Virology, so CMV, Hep A, Hep C, HIV, Vitamin D, Thyroid, and Blood Type if I need a blood transfusion.
15th June
I returned to the clinic to have my CMV re-done as the first one came back indeterminate.
23rd June
Bloods at the GP this time. These included a full check of everything, full blood count, liver & kidney functions, folate, b12, iron profile, vitamin D and thyroid (again), Us&Es, and a few others I’m sure of.
When I had my referral to the clinc, I had additional bloods done then too – lots of bloods. And whilst I’m still awaiting my CMV status (I like to be awkward obviously) the good news is that my Vitamin D is where it needs to be!
I’ve always had lower Vitamin D, but the clinic wanted over 75 for IVF/Fertility treatment, the lowst it had ever been for me is 14! It is currently 84! I’m over the moon!
Get ready for all the bloods ladies!
