A lot of people commented on how much they loved my Embryo Video and how amazing technology is now.
Not all clinics have Embryoscope techonology, and for a lot of private patients it is included within the cost of treatmnt, however NHS patients have to pay the additional cost for it (Over £600 depending on the clinics).
Normally during IVF the embryologists need to remove the embryos from the incubators in order to make sure they’re developing correctly. This can expose the embryos to changes in temperature and humidity as they’re sensitive to this type of thing.
However, the Embryoscope incubator maintains the conditions for the embryos. Each embryoscope has 12 slots to monitor 12 embryos, and with built in cameras & microscopes it taks several images every 10 minutes. If you get more than 12 eggs fertilised, they’ll only moniter 12 this way.
This allows embryologists to assess the embryos in the incubators an help select the embryo(s) with the highest chance of leading to a pregnancy & baby. It does however not guarantee the outcome.
Isn’t technology amazing?!
