Cycle 1: Follow Up Consultation

My Follow-up Consultation was booked for the week after what would have been my Early Pregnancy Scan – I don’t think that they meant it to be that way it is just how it worked. I’m only aware of these dates due to other girls around me, being pregnant around a similar time.

I had to book my consultation via a different private hospital than where my clinic is located, it was a bit of a weird one as I had never even spoken to them about my fertility journey. I ended up speaking to two people, one person who was rather unhelpful, and one who told me that unfortuately some people don’t like to do their jobs! ha!

My follow-up Consultation was actually done on Zoom – which felt really weird but in the grand scheme of things its a bit easier and better for some of the consultants to reduce their face to face contact on a daily basis, I get it, I totally do.

He said that he was quite happy with how things had gone overall, that they put back a lovely blastocyst and that it was sad that it ended in a chemical pregnancy.

Out of the 9 follicles that did contain eggs, 4 of the follicles were bigger than the others and he thinks that these 4 will be the 4 that fertilised. Given my age, AFC and AMH he believes he was right to put me on the maximum protocol.

I discussed that I had started adding in extra vitamins such as Omega 3 and Co-Enzyme Q10 as well as trying to reduce my weight further.

I asked if there was anything else I could do to try and “help” and he said that I was doing what I could and just continue doing that.

The plan is to keep the same protocol for IVF round two!

Baseline Scan & Nurse Consultation booked…so bring it on!
