Moving Clinics

As I have mentioned previously, I decided that once I knew that moving forward with my own eggs was not going to work for me and I was going to venture into being a solo mummy with a double donor baby I knew I need to move clincs.

I’ve never mentioned the clinics I was at, but, for transparency especially for people reading this who may need an egg donor, I want to raise it now.

I was a Leeds Fertility and when I raised that I wanted to look into donor eggs I was told by my consultant that the donor list was around 18month wait. When I spoke to the donor nurses I was told it was “more than likely” two years.

Due to this amount of time, I didn’t consider staying with them and finding out how they matched their donors, they didn’t discuss how it worked with me, but I did hear on the grapevine you don’t get a full match with a donor just what is on the list when you get there – but I appreciate this is probably not factually correct but I knew this wouldn’t work for me, especially when I went through the entire process of choosing my sperm donor.

When I then started researching clinics who had their own egg bank, recruited egg donors, and had easier access to donors my current clinic, Manchester Fertility was originally one of my choices when using my own eggs, so it felt right that I would move to them.

Luckily, my bloods were in date for what they needed I just needed a new scan so my move over to Manchester Fertility was really quite smooth!

It definatly helped that they were one of my choices when I was right at the start of my journey, maybe they were the choice to get me a baby afterall!
