When Coronavirus hit the world, and everything as we knew it came to a stop, so did all the fertility treatment and appointments.
Everyone has had to adapt and change their processes, so when the clinics got the green light to re-open my aim was to sit tight and wait for them to call me.
After two weeks, I could take no more and decided that I needed to be proactive!
On Monday 1st June I called the clinic and was given a follow-up appointment with my consultant for Tuesday 2nd June.
Tuesday came and I discussed several things with my consultant, they’d not had the notes sent through to them from my surgery, but luckily I had a copy and was able to tell them what they found, and also the results of my dye test to check that my tubes were open.
And whilst everything looks ok, based on my personal experiences, family experiences, my endometriosis and my LLETZ treatment for previous pre-cancerous cells my consulstant thinks that IVF is the right path for me.
I do agree with him too. I’ve always been under the impression that IVF would be better for me than IUI, I don’t know why its just been a gut feeling – the consultant would have supported me for IUI if I had preferred that but he thinks its the right option.
So the plan is more bloods with my GP and an up to date smear. Try and lose a it more weight (as much as I can ideally) and it looks like its all go for SEPTEMBER.

Yesterday, I took the proactive decision yet again to call the clinic about my donor matching and how they work, whats included and how we go about it now we are trying to social distance…
And thats a whole other entry!
