Nurse Consultation

My virutal nurses consultation was something that I truely had no idea what to expect from it.

I knew that my sperm was on order, and that my BMI was still a little big higher than needed to be – so the nurses consultation was probably just to go through consents an paperwork and set my protocol for Septemeber, as had been previously discussed with my consultant.

Well…how wrong was I!

There was a few technical glitches but luckily I could see my nurse, more than she could see me – an the call wouldn’t connect via the laptop so I had to do it via my phone which dropped the call 3 times!

So, we went through consents and a medical form just checking that things had been OK’d – and then we talked through my menstral cycle – when Cycle Day on would be. I knEw I was due within days of that conversation, so that would have been too quick, so we pencilled in for August. A whole month earlier than the earliest I expected!

My nurse talked me through the medication I would be on, when I would inject it, how to mix it and inject it – which was great to see on video. I am doing short protocol too.

She then told me roughly the week I would be having my egg collection, and therefore I know roughly, and hopefully when embryo transfer would be.

She explained that I would need to come in for a scan on CD9 but to call and book it in on CD1. If everything goes to plan these are already pencilled in my diary – but not only that I have to self-isolate from CD9 to Embryo Transfer. If I wish to isolate after this it is at my own discression. This has caused a couple of issues – but nothing that cannot be sorted – but I’ll write another post about that.

I have an appointment early august to go and pick up my IVF Med Diary – get my weight re-took (Hello BMI Under 35!) and my blood pressure and a wonderful COVID Swab – and then its all go-go-go!

EEK!
